Metal Framed Gates – Kent
When timber gates exceed 1.8m wide (or 2.1m wide for hardwood gates) we always recommend having a metal frame for added rigidity, this is made from a galvanized box section and the timber frame is constructed around it.
This means a timber swing gate can potentially be 12m wide and a sliding gate can be 30m wide, although these widths would be susceptible to damage from wind so we recommend timber gates should not be wider than 6m wide.
Metal framed gates can be topped with barbed wire or any security feature of metal gates. Smaller metal framed gates can be hung on wooden posts or all gates can be hung on suitable metal posts, alternatively they can be mounted onto brick pillars that we can arrange. All metal framed gates are suitable for automation.
