Palisade Garden Fencing – Kent
Timber palisade or picket fencing is an attractive type of fencing usually used at the front of a property or to separate a part of the garden from other, e.g. swimming pools, ponds etc. As standard we use 100x100mm posts set into the ground approximately 600mm these posts would be topped to match the pales. On fences up to 1.2m high we would use 2 arris rails on fences over that height we would use 3 rails. The pales are 25x75mm and either flat topped, pointed topped or round topped. The fence can have a gravel board at the bottom to give it extra rigidity.
The fence can have a flat top with counter rail and capping if desired, this is good if you intend to lean on the fence making it more comfortable. As standard timber palisade comes in 3m long bays and heights from 300mm to 2400mm in 150mm intervals.
Timber palisade can be supplied PAR (plained all round) this is recommended if you intend the fence to be painted, we would recommend using 100x50mm rails rather than arris rails for this because when the timber is plained it gets slightly smaller and arris rails get a bit too small. We can offer a painting service for the fence if desired.
