Panel Garden Fencing – Kent
Panels are a cost effective way of securing your boundary. With a life expectancy of up to 15 years they have proved a long lasting type of fencing. There are many types and sizes of panels the most common being Waney Edge, also known as Larch Lap, Over Lap or garden panels. Other types of panels include closeboard panels which are a heavier duty version of the Waney Edge and are more attractive as well. All panels are 6ft(1.83m) wide and come in 3ft(0.9m), 4ft (1.2m), 5ft(1.5m) and 6ft(1.8m) heights. They all have heavy duty battens for good rigidity. We always use 100x100mm posts for our panels but they can be erected with 75x75mm posts if desired. We recommend the posts be at least 600mm longer than the fence is high, e.g. if the fence is 1.8m high then at least 2.4m posts should be used. Any panel can be supplied with a gravel board underneath. For wooden posts these would generally be 150x22mm timber gravel board. Concrete posts can have either 150mm of 300mm concrete gravel board or a 150x50mm timber gravel board underneath.
